Think back on all the activities we have done in the Fish Friends Unit: setting up our tank; taking care of the tank; releasing the salmon; the Atlantic Salmon Project; The Bangor Daily News Project; our field trip to Mountain Springs Trout Farm; and the presentations we made to other classes from Early Childhood to grade 11. Going to the Fish Farm was fun because we got to see a whole lot of fish that go through the same thing as our salmon do.
-Jordan I liked presenting the slideshow because I liked teaching about the salmon.
- Chelsea I liked releasing the fish because it was easy to do.
- Marcia 2. What was one thing you learned? Salmon are very strong and determined fish.
- Nicole I learned that salmon could swim from fresh water to salt water.
- Jacques I learned that salmon are anadromous fish.
- Andrew 3. What did you have the hardest time doing? Nothing was hard. It was all fun.
- Matthew I thought it was hard presenting the slide show.
- Jordan I had the hardest time gathering information to fill in the worksheets.
- Chelsea 4. What did you have the easiest time doing? The easiest thing to do was to present the slide show.
- Marcia Releasing the salmon because we just let them out of our bags.
- Andrew Everything was easy!
- Matthew 5. What is one thing you would change in this unit if you could and why? I would like to have practiced more for the slide shows so I wouldn't have been so nervous.
- Jordan I would go back to the old tank because this one was too small and warm.
- Marcia I would choose to have partners for the Atlantic Salmon Project instead of groups because they work better together.
- Nicole S. 6. What is one thing you would keep in this unit and why? I would continue going to Mountain Springs Trout Farm because it was interesting and fun!
- Jacques I loved releasing the fish. I would keep that for sure!
- Jonathan I would keep presenting the slide shows because I thought they were fun and easy.
- Chelsea Is there anything else that you would like to add to this evaluation that has not been asked? If so, write it down below. I think you should keep the Fish Friends Program going because it was a great experience for me and I think it would be for future fourth graders.
