On Monday June 1, two Children’s Stage Adventure
actor/educators, Courtney de la Rigaudere and Julie-Anne Whitney auditioned
and cast approximately 90 students, from the third and fourth grade for the
production The Sword Called Excalibur.
In just five days all the songs,
lines, dances and staging are learned. The two public performances of the
final production take place on Friday, June 5, at 1:00 and 6:00. Mrs. Missy Morneault,
a fourth grade teacher, wrote a grant to get this group to come to Madawaska.
The Perloff Foundation funded this activity. Mrs. Morneault wanted to bring
Children’s Stage to Madawaska because “we live in an area far away from a
performing arts center” and she thought it would be fun for the students to
have a theatre experience.
