Welcome to Music

My name is Mrs. Jellison - music teacher for Eddington and Holden Schools! I look forward to making music with all the students!! We will be talking about the many facets of music: listening to great musical works, reading notes, writing notes, learning rhythms, playing different musical instruments: percussion, orff instruments! (i.e. xylophones, metallophones, glockenspiels, handbells), ukuleles (second graders), flutophones (third graders), recorders and guitar (fourth graders) and keyboards (all classes!), dance and movement and singing!!!

We also will be preparing for our two concerts this year: our winter concert in December and the spring concert in May!! Our winter concert will focus on songs from other countries as well as some old-time favorites! Our May concert will focus on songs from famous musicals!! We will be implementing instruments as well for both of our concerts!!

Our musical play this year is THE MAGICAL LAND OF OZ!! We will be having tryouts for the play beginning the middle of September. This play is based on the beloved film, The Wizard of Oz! The play is about one hour long and I hope students will consider trying out for this fun performance!!
